Procerin for Hair Loss

Procerin is one of the relatively new hair loss products on the market today, one of a number of two-part treatments that work both internally and externally for maximum effectiveness against the leading cause of natural baldness, the proliferation of dihydrotesterone, or DHT, on a person’s scalp.  Procerin works primarily through the suppression and reduction of DHT, preventing further hair loss, and possibly allowing hair to grow once again on a bald pate.  The Procerin system is comprised of two components, the tablets and the topical foam, both of which should be used in conjunction for best results.  One of the positive claims made by advocates of Procerin is that it works faster compared to other products on the market, providing benefits within 1 to 3 months from initial use.  Rogaine and Propecia, two popular hair loss solutions, take 4 months and 6 months, respectively, to have any effect.  Another promoted advantage of Procerin is that it is safe to combine with other hair loss products, particularly those that help out during other phases of DHT proliferation.

This combination aspect of Procerin may actually be a warning sign, however, that the product does not actually work as efficiently on its own.  The product has its share of positive and negative testimonials, with those advocating Procerin acknowledging that, even though it did work as far as they expected, it is a product generally suited for early hair loss and younger individuals.  Procerin itself, in its official website, admits that 20 percent of its users, or one in every five customers, will not obtain results from Procerin use.  In addition, marketing materials for Procerin state that the product’s benefits will be limited to retaining existing hair once a person’s hair enters a phase where it no longer lengthens or requires cutting.

Other cautious reviews about Procerin note that the product tablets actually provide more of a benefit than the product substance that one applies to one’s scalp, at least with regard to the prevention of further hair loss.  A noticeable side effect of tablet consumption is that it dries out the user’s mouth, making it important for one to stay hydrated while using Procerin.  However, this is the only reported side effect of Procerin usage, as the the individual ingredients of the product conform to the standards prescribed by the United States Food and Drug Administration, and are mostly natural extracts and oils from plants that have historically been useful in fighting baldness.  At least, if one decides to spend on Procerin and does not experience hair loss relief, one will not have to contend with any number of negative effects to compound disappointment with the purchase.

All in all, Procerin is not a unanimously recommended product, and effectiveness mileage does vary between individuals.  As a final note, those who do experience benefits from Procerin usage would do well to determine whether or not stopping the treatment will also cause hair loss to resume.  Younger men generally fare better once they discontinue Procerin, though all users are encouraged to determine for themselves what works best for them.
