Tricomin for Hair Loss

Many hair loss products typically fall into one of three categories – the inhibition of DHT to prevent hair loss from follicle damage, the use of potassium channel openers like Minoxidil to enhance new growth, or an assortment of untested herbal applications that somehow perform either or both of the aforementioned functions.  Tricomin, however, approaches the problem with an intriguing solution – the use of copper peptide technology to stimulate hair growth.  The science behind this method rests on the fact that hair follicles on a person’s scalp are constantly either in a resting or growth phase, and anomalies involving these phases are responsible for the development of baldness.  While other products seek to inhibit the chemical reaction that places hair follicles in an extended resting phase, the copper peptides in Tricomin instead shorten the resting phase of the follicle, so that more follicles are actively growing hair than remaining dormant at any given time.  Copper apparently boosts the production of the nutrients and substances that are responsible for the formation of healthy hair, such as collagen and various proteins, that only become active during the growth phase.  In addition, copper peptides are potent anti-inflammatories that can reverse accumulated scalp damage.  Copper has also been shown to suppress the element 5-Alpha Reductase, which causes DHT formation.

The Tricomin line is comprised of several products, all of which are marketed towards men and women with thinning hair.  The Tricomin Conditioning Shampoo prepares the scalp for the introduction of the copper peptide formulas by bathing it in essential amino acids and minerals, which thoroughly cleanse and moisturize it.  The Restructuring Conditioner helps to restore the natural protein balance, structure and luster of your existing hair.  Lastly, the Follicle Therapy Spray contains the high concentration of copper peptides that are to be sprayed on the balding or thinning spots for maximum effectiveness of the regimen.

Certainly, this all sounds extremely impressive, but how does it stack up in reality?  It must be pointed out at this juncture that the manufacturers of Tricomin do not market it primarily as a form of medical hair growth treatment, in spite of the fact that it is one of the few products on the market today that has actually undergone scientific testing and put through FDA approval procedures.  Rather, Tricomin is intended as a cosmetic enhancer, and even complementary to other hair loss products, such as Finasteride or Minoxidil, to boost the effects of those treatments.  One reviewer appreciates this aspect of Tricomin, stating that the copper peptides could really help alleviate the dandruff and redness that Minoxidil can inflict on its users.  At least, one can appreciate the honesty of Tricomin’s manufacturers, who have acknowledged that their product does have limitations, and is better in conjunction with other products than as a stand-alone treatment option.

As far as effectiveness goes, the general opinion appears to lean towards Tricomin providing positive effects, particularly when used together with other products, giving better results than if the other product had been used on its own.  Not the miracle cure you were looking for, perhaps, but definitely not a waste of money.
